Why?
Because if you get Gizmo Voice, you can make free calls* to any US phone number from your computer!
(*Unfortunately, calls are limited to 3 minutes.)
Once you get a Gizmo 5 phone number, you can have all calls made to your Google Voice phone number be routed to Gizmo 5 (i.e. Gizmo Voice).
When would I use Gizmo Voice?
When you're at a hotel, your cell phone's dead, you don't want to pay for phone service, but you have free Wi-Fi, this is your chance to use Gizmo Voice. Or, you could be at home or at work and use Gizmo Voice, too. For these types of situations, you may consider purchasing a Wi-Fi phone.

There isn't much use for Gizmo Voice unless you want to make free US calls from your computer or Wi-Fi phone at home or on the go (of course, you'll need a internet connection to use Gizmo Voice).

ReplyDeleteAbout the 3 minute limit...it only applies to phone calls you make through Gizmo5 from your computer. We have recently discovered that it is possible to make phone calls without a time limit if you dial the number you want to dial from the Google Voice inbox then have Google Voice route that call to Gizmo5. We will put up a notice about the time limit later.
