Nintendo DSi - Better, but not the best

The Nintendo DSi came out in April of this year--that's about 4 months ago.

We're writing this article to provide with you suggestions on if you should get the Nintendo DSi or not.

The main features of the Nintendo DSi are the larger screen, SD card slot, music playing capabilities (AAC only), "apps", and 2 cameras (the outer is 3 megapixels, the inner is 0.3 megapixels).
The camera features are nice, but the inner camera's 0.3 megapixels is just too low for the average person to want.
Unfortunately, the Nintendo DSi does not have a GBA slot, so if you are considering buying a Nintendo DSi, be prepared to say "bye-bye" your Guitar Hero games and the ability to import your GBA Pokemon into the DS version of Pokemon.

Here are our suggestions:
  • If you don't have a Nintendo DS or DS Lite and want to purchase a Nintendo DSi, go for it.
  • If you have a Nintendo DS and want to purchase a Nintendo DSi, think about your decision over and over again until you are sure that you are making the right choice--it may help to wait a while. Get a Nintendo DS Lite instead...but that would be a pointless purchase, too.
  • If you have a Nintendo DS Lite and want to purchase a Nintendo DSi, don't!!! You're going to miss your GBA slot, you will have to convert all of your music files to AAC format to play them, and the cameras will be only somewhat useful (Have you seen anyone going around taking pictures with their Nintendo DSi? Probably not).
Since the main differences between the Nintendo DSi and it's predecessors are the music playing capabilities and the camera functions, you might want to consider getting a PSP or an iPod (Perhaps the 3rd generation, which will probably come out this fall. An article covering this topic will be posted soon).

Conclusion.
So don't waste your money. As time passes, technology gets better and better. Be patient, and wait for something that suits all of your needs to come onto the market.
